On June 12, 1948, she married Paul Verle Bennett at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon. They were blessed with five children, Terri, Cathy, Joni, Bill, and Jeffrey. After they sold their home of many years and moved to Hillside, she and Paul went for coffee weekly with Lloyd and Marilyn Overton, exercised at Public Health nearly every week day with Bonnie Carlberg, both of which Mildred continued after Paul’s death.
