Obituary – Heather Marie Blankenship Sisk

Heather Marie Blankenship Sisk, age 42, fought to the end trying to prove she could overcome cancer, but lost the battle on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa. She was born December 31, 1976, to Wayne Lee and Deborah Diane (Greer) Blankenship at Nevada, Missouri.

Heather and her family lived in southern Missouri before moving to Iowa in 1990. In 1995, they moved to Decatur County, Iowa. She graduated from Mormon Trail High School in 1996. She became a certified nurses assistant and worked at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa, a nursing home in Osceola, Iowa, and another one in Muscatine, Iowa.

Over the years she was married and blessed with three children, Jonathan, Deborah, and Trace. She always loved farm animals.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Wayne Blankenship and Deborah Blankenship Kigar; stepfather, Joe Kigar; and her grandparents. Survivors include her children, Jonathan Blankenship of Garden Grove, Iowa, Deborah Blankenship McClellan and Trace Blankenship McClellan, both of Newton, Iowa; sister, Wendy Shimer and Kevin of Garden Grove; half siblings, David Blankenship of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jessica Reese Clark of Sedalia, Missouri, Justin Blankenship and Cynthia of Huntsville, Arkansas, and Katrina Beason of Lake Chelan, Washington; husband, Charles Sisk of Osceola; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
