Obituary – Danny Lee Casterline

Danny Lee Casterline, age 55, died at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa on Saturday, February 22, 2020. He was born October 30, 1964, to Donald Myron and Judy Faye (Campbell) Casterline at St. Helens, Oregon.

Dan grew up in Lincoln City, Oregon and attended Taft High School. He then began a career in the logging and forestry business. Over the years, he also did mechanical work.

Dan married Shannon Marie Rogers. They were blessed with two sons, Donald and David. In the mid 1980’s, the family moved from Oregon to Iowa. Dan stayed in Iowa when the couple separated. He later had other relationships and had two more sons, Clinton and Joshua.

Dan was a hard worker and really didn’t have any interest in anything else but his work. He was injured with a broken neck in the early 1990’s and was unable to work following that accident. Lately his health has been declining.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and grandson, Dominic Casterline. Survivors include his four sons, Donald Casterline and wife, Aubree of Montana, David Casterline of Montana, Clinton Casterline and girlfriend, Abbie Abel of Derby, Iowa, and Josh Casterline and girlfriend, Maxamilia of Montana; grandchildren, Aryan, Damon, Brett, Aiden, Marley, Breanna, Ryan, Jaycee, Rogue, and another one on the way; siblings, Mike and Linda Casterline of Osceola, Iowa, Roland Casterline and Ed Casterline, both of Oregon, and Verneta and Ron Hargrove of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Burial will take place in Oregon at a later date. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.
